Yes, if you have a 10G 850nm SFP at one end of the fiber, the other side must be the same.

No it does not.

Is 10GBMM transceiver compatible with switches from other brands?+

In theory, yes. SFP modules are supposed to be universal. However some are coded differently. We recommend asking the manufacturer of the switch device you are using if that switch will “read” any SFP module.

Is this 10Gb SFP backward-compatible with 1Gbps?+

No, 10Gb must be matched with 10Gb.
